PL of sections 42 and 43 is fine.

We’ll start our tour of NZ tomorrow and I don’t know how my access will be. Sections might pile up for a while but I’ll resume eventually!

Not a problem at all, Susanne. I think of all the issues facing the world at the moment, "when will Peter and Susanne's audiobook version of The Red and the Black be issued?" probably comes fairly low down on the list! Que sera, sera (and I do hope your tour proceeds magnificently!)

In the meantime, I have uploaded:
Section 44: https://librivox.org/uploads/annise/redandtheblack_44_stendhal_128kb.mp3 (12:41)
Section 45: https://librivox.org/uploads/annise/redandtheblack_45_stendhal_128kb.mp3 (10:57)

Thank you for always being so understanding about my absences! Our recording might just be what this crazy world needs! Just think how benign Julian’s troubles must appear….

Nice! Glad to hear it. (Just imagine if Stendhal had been able to look forward nearly 200 years to witness such a thing: someone LISTENING to his novel, translated into ENGLISH, while walking a beach in NEW ZEALAND — where many are still very much grumbling about politics, just as in his own time — and still appreciating his work. He might have felt it had been all worthwhile!)

I have uploaded section 54: https://librivox.org/uploads/annise/redandtheblack_54_stendhal_128kb.mp3 (13:51).

We walked through tiny Colac Bay. Two neighbors had painted on their fences that the local Department of Transportation had deliberately sabotaged the road on the foreshore. Politics is alive and well!

Ha! That sounds about right!

You're down in that part of the woods, I see, where the people see "wee" for "little" (just as in Scotland) as I recall — or they did in 1974, which was the last time I was ever there! Milk used to cost 4 cents a litre then (honestly — I remember that well, for some reason.) Long time ago!

I have uploaded section 55: https://librivox.org/uploads/annise/redandtheblack_55_stendhal_128kb.mp3 (15:01).
