The First Sir Percy: An Adventure of the Laughing Cavalier, by Baroness Emma Orczy (1865 - 1947)
Sequel to The Laughing Cavalier, The First Sir Percy picks up the cavalier’s story three months later. The second novel in Baroness Orczy’s swashbuckling series, this one set in the Netherlands, contains all the same adventurous elements as the novels that follow. Percy Blake, who calls himself Diogenes, is the Scarlet Pimpernel’s worthy ancestor. (Summary by Winnifred Assmann)

The Magic Window is filled and we are ready for readers! I've claimed all three parts of the first chapter. If anyone has questions about how to pronounce any of the Dutch words/names, I can help (I was born in the Netherlands).

Cheers,
Winnifred

Hello! I've been very excited to look at this project as a true fan of the demmned, elusive Pimpernel and want to claim Chapter 2 and Chapter 2 Continued. Hopefully more if the work I turn in is appreciated.

Hi Xenosan,

Welcome to Librivox! Yes, you may have Chapter 2 and Chapter 2, continued. This book is about the Scarlet Pimpernel's ancestor, Diogenes, but I believe it's no less adventurous.

Check out the first post of this project for the information you'll need about uploading, file name, correct intro/outro, etc.

Feel free to ask questions along the way while you're recording.

I'll set you up in the Librivox catalogue under the name Xenosan. That can be changed later if you want something different.

Cheers,
Winnifred

With apologies to any readers who might have already started recording, I've decided to simplify the chapter numbering system somewhat.

Rather than Chapter X, continued, I've renumbered the chapters 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. Please read the Chapter number listed in the Magic Window at the beginning and end of each section.

The file name, however, will still contain the section number, as listed in the Magic Window.

This change will also make it clearer for anyone listening to this recording on a phone app, which strips out the section numbers from the listings, making "End of Section X" meaningless to the listener.

Please let me know if you have questions.

Adele, please note that I've corrected this in Chapter 1.1 today and reuploaded the file.

Cheers,
Winnifred
