Uploading Let'em Breathe Space by Lester del Rey to page4. Will link and wiki as soon as upload completes.

-- upload complete/wikied/linked --

Also, noticed this on the fiction in english page: De zoon van Dik Trom by Cornelis Johannes Kieviet. Is this a duplicate of the link on the Dutch page?

I haven't quite finished with the wiki - still have the last 2 sections to clear out of non English and Non Fiction - it takes concentration , but I am nearly there :D .I have been afraid I would delete the wrong ones if I did too many at once.
And then I will get the top section looking better.

I'll get it linked in catalogue etc - Done

I uploaded The Scarlet Plague by Jack London to page 4. I added the info to the wiki.

P.S. I'm downloading herodotus now and will see if I can fix it.

Wow, Herodotus is really large: Vol1 is 281 MB, Vol2 is 191MB, and Vol3 is 193MB. I can guess the original encoder chose a way to make the single book a reasonable size. I'm not sure about combining the three into one volume; I may re-encode to separate volumes to keep each a reasonable size.

It was one of Jonathan's early ones, something must have gone wrong I think - smaller files are fine by me -
At the moment he hasn't the access needed to do anything much himself I suspect - still looking for a home :D

I think it is a good idea to make each part less than 300 mb or it might take forever for the readers to download (right, Anne?)!

On a completely different note:

Jonathan decided that too afterwards - we looked into the size of most commercial audiobooks . The program you have automatically decides doesn't it ?

And the longer it takes the more likely the space gremlins are to eat a byte or so (terrible joke warning)

The software I use (Audiobook Builder) lets you decide. You can choose between 3 qualities: high (stereo), normal (mono, 64 kb, which I use) and low (never tried it). And then you can set the limit to how long each part should be. I think I have it at 12 hours, and it fits more or less with 300 mb.

I use Chapter and Verse. This software warns when a file gets to big. A file up to 400Mb is acceptable according to this program. Please tell me that's right. Otherwise I have to redo some books...
