COMPLETE[PLAY]Lady Bountiful by Pinero - thw
Thank you.
I don't think we need it digitized. We're reading from old script images with f's for s's these days so able to handle most anything legible.
EDIT: The 1928 "A Private Room" play is at Archive now. https://archive.org/details/bwb_O8-CAM-433 Thanks! Added it to my list.
Thanks, Todd

I thought I'd get to editing Act III tonight, but I've got an early morning. But soon.

awww I feel for that poor woman. You make her hardships really palpable in your presentation, Agnes. The caring soft voice, getting more and more worn-out and resigned by the end. It was brilliantly acted out.AgnesRobert wrote: ↑January 11th, 2024, 5:44 pmhttps://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/ladybountiful_mrsveale_1.mp3 (1:49)

In Act 2 you have quite overlooked a few pages but other than that and a few cuts, it was excellent. I noted down what needs to be added or cut:
Act 1:
> at 0:59: (p. 58) repeat, one version can get cut "lord, John, how you do rattle on"
Act 2:
> at 0:23 and at 0:27: (p. 69) repeat, one version can be cut: "The gal"
> at about 3:20: (p. 82-87) eleven missed lines:
- That we are John.
- Lor, sir, he hasn't told me much.
- Why, no, sir; all John knows is that you've asked him to write his name to a -- what is it, father ?
- Much obliged I'm sure, sir.
- Hm. you'll excuse me, I hope, Mr Heron, for what I'm going to say...
- I'm sure no one could be more sensible than me and John of the honour of being on such friendly terms with gentry, eh, father ?
- Thank you Mr. Heron. Only neither John nor I understands much about this sort of business and what little we do know of it frightens us. Now it's out.
- Then I'll say no more sir. I shouldn't have spoken to a gentleman in this way, only, only...
- Only John and I have been married, two-and-twenty years, and I daresay I'm vexing to him now and again, but we've faced our troubles together, having laid three children to rest, and so, so...
- ...please don't let any harm come to my old man.
- All, right, father, all right.
> at 5:51 and at 5:59: (p. 98) repeat, can be cut once "Common, Meg"
> at about 11:10: (p. 104) missed line: "Yes ?"
> from 10:43 to 11:08 and from 11:15 to 11:36: (p. 104) repeat, one version can get cut "Thanks, have you seen my glasses Mr Dennison ? I'm a perfect bat without them. It's an order for the office I fancy. Kindly tell me what it's about sir will you."
Act 3:
> from 9:15 to 9:20: (p. 141) repeat, one version can be cut "John, Melia"
thanks

as for act two, oh dear, so very sorry about that
I even remember reading these words to myself when I first looked over the script, I guess I didn't print them out in my practice packet and I knew it felt like I should have more to say between those places it was puzzling to me, next time I pull up the pdf and look
I'll be practicing that section a bit more before recording you should see it in a few days
thanks, and PL okAgnesRobert wrote: ↑January 14th, 2024, 4:27 pmwell here are acts 1 and 3 fixed

May I have a short extension on Camilla? Was going to record her this weekend but I’ve come down with some crud and have no voice

Well, let's see if another Act of stage directions will pass scrutiny.
There is one substitution of "and" for "then" at the end, but I couldn't get a patch to sound half way decent, so I think it should be okay -- meaning not much altered.
