Well, Jake has been absent from Librivox for almost 2 months. Could anyone else try to sound like the Count for the one line given above? (Listen to one of his files in the MW if necessary.) I am in conversation with him at this point in the play and talking to myself would not work....

I'm sorry, but your Bartholo is in the same conversation as The Count and Figaro when this line is spoken. Too likely to be very confusing....
