ColleenMc wrote: October 20th, 2020, 12:41 pm I'm so bummed to have missed this week's meeting! I got up early Sunday, did a bunch of chores, then crashed out and napped and FORGOT completely! I'm going to catch up on YouTube and do my darnedest to be there next week. I would like to continue these, maybe not always with an instructive schedule but just being able to get together and chat a bit would be so cool. Maybe alternate "structured" Zoom meetings with an agenda with "open" ones that are more of a hangout for chit chat and anyone asking anything they want about LV topics.

Yes, we missed your smiling face! I am gratified that you and others are interested in keeping these going. Please come next Sunday and share your ideas. Chit chat is fun too. Image

Very nice. Now if all my DPLs would do this for me that would be fabulous!

Thanks, Tricia. So in short, it goes like this:

Paste this code into a notepad or other document where you can get to it as needed:
PL Notes <a href="" target="_blank">HERE</a>

Right click on the little document icon at upper left of your PL Notes post. Choose "copy link" from the dropdown menu.
Paste the address between the two quote marks (""), like so:
PL Notes <a href="viewtopic.php?p=1768460#p1768460" target="_blank">HERE</a>
.
Copy and paste the whole line into the Notes section of the MW for the PL'd file.
Check the MW to make sure the link works right.

Yes, pretty much. (The forum software shortens the link, so it doesn't look right in your post, but that's not your fault.) :)

Hi Zoomies! This is a reminder that this Sunday 10/25/2020 at 12 NOON central time, we will be having a LibriVoxie Zoom meeting

Phil Chenevert is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
Join Zoom Meeting
https://us02web.zoom.us/j/8840814632

The agenda will be start with a discussion of
1) WHERE DOES LIBRIVOX ZOOM go from here?
2) What format do you think it should take, if any? Chit-chat? instructional? bi-weekly, weekly, monthly, biannually? Length?
3) What time zone is best? Should it rotate from early in the day to later so different people can join in comfortably?
4) Should it have rotating hosts or will one person grab hold as 'Host For Life' until the people rise and throw them out?
5) If we have rotating hosts, how fast should they spin? And in what direction?
6) When will the next meeting be and who will host it?
7) What is the best use of Zoom within Librivox? how do you think it can be most useful?

About length I should note that the cloud storage of meeting recordings by Zoom is limited to 1 GB, about 1:15 minutes so the host will need to have a lot of storage space on their computer to record longer meetings.

Once these things are discussed, we can talk more about The Joys and Sorrows of being a Book Coordinator. Carolyn wrote a nice summary and I will read it since she probably can't join us. ImageImage

I've made a new page in the wiki which outlines, among other things, how to make that "PL Notes" link.

An excellent idea, I reckon. I know the first few times I tried to update the MW as a BC, I sounded like Scooby-Doo. "Ruh-roh...!" and "Huuuuhh?"

Cheers,
Chris

P.S. Just so that Phil doesn't corner the market on puns and such...
