Yes! I own that mic (yeah I have two USB mics heheh) and I think Tis does too! It's a great little mic, and very good-looking ;-)

Just make sure you turn your input volume all the way up, or nearly so - tinker with the settings to see what works for you.

If you record at a low input volume and then try to amplify the finished file, you'll get a background whine, which you can hear in The Road to Oz if you listen through headphones. Ick.

Happy reading!

I have completed a first attempt at a reading for Chapter 31. I'd appreciate feedback, especially on the second half, which I'm not entirely happy with.

The recording is at:

Listening now -- sounds great so far. Listening to the middle... still sounds good, listening near the end... still sounds good! Thanks a lot, Leo, good job. What name shall I use for you on the catalog page? Personal url?

If you're happy with it then that's great. Please list me as Leo Vegoda, but don't bother adding a personal web page link.

Okay, I've finished Chapter 12. It was my first audio recording of this kind, so it was a definate crash-course in recording! I hope the chapter sounds okay. You'll find it here:

Oh, and do let me know if there are any problems.

Delightful, Heather! Thank you so much. Gosh, I just love hearing all the different voices in this project. Go claim another chapter of something! :)

Kara, may I have two more chapters? The next two open ones are just after the two I read before. I don't know if four-in-a-row read by the same person will bore our listeners to death, so feel free to assign me whichever two you think most appropriate.

Kayray,

Glad my chapter is satisfactory. You can put my name down as Heather B. if you're listing it.

I agree, it's fun listening to all the voices on the recordings. The collaborative recordings are great fun!

Leo,

Would you be interested in collaborating on some other chapters? I'm doing my first recording and am getting an English friend to read with me, but it might work remotely also. I'm not so good at doing the man's part. I'd also be happy just reading the women's parts with a man narrating. Email me and I'd be happy to send a sample of my voice if you are interested. I think it gives the readings so much life when you have more than one person participating!
