The Head-Gardener's Story by Anton Chekhov 1860-1904

NOTE: in my upload I did not include punctuation in the story title. I wondered if punctuation messes up the upload. If it's wanted I could upload again with it.
I have finally had the chance to listen to your story. It is PL OK and I like it! However, it isn't about gardening! I could use this story over in my Love Stories #5 collection, as your story is about certainly about love. If you would, please re'record the intro and rename your story as specified in the first post over there, upload, then post it with the link and file length as specified. Over there it will fit right in.

PL Notes on War Gardens 1, THE KINDS OF VEGETABLES TO GROW
1:09 There are several instances where you knock your mike with something, and a few animal noises in the background, but only one stands out enough to cite.
4:35 stumble :While a sma....similar weight", delete stumble
Might as well delete pop at the end since you are editing the file anyway.

PL Notes on War Gardens 2, Planning The Garden
4:08 - 4:32 Some kind of machine or airplane ramps up pretty loud then fades away. I recommend you re-record this segment, as there is not enough non-speaking space to get a noise profile to reduce it with Audacity. I live in a fly zone, and have trained myself to hit pause and wait for quiet before I commence recording again, usually about 20 to 30 seconds. Same when dogs commence to barking. I don't even have to think about it anymore.

Thanks Michelle. Yeah i have some dogs in the neighborhood and the occasional airplane. - i tried to do it as late as possible but looks like couldnt avoid the noises. Given the short duration of the files, I think ill record again. Thanks for your tips to hit pause instead of depending on noise reduction. Will try them as well. Stay tuned.

Kinds of Vegetables to Grow is PL OK.
Planning a Garden is PL OK.

I would not want to PL every file twice, but as these were short, I didn't mind listening again. They sounded fine. There was a loud pop at the very end of Kinds of Veggies to Grow, which might have come from turning off your equipment while still in record mode. It doesn't harm the file.

Hi Michele

if my count is correct, there is still one more slot open before this can be catalogued. Would you accept another lovely short poem about flowers in the garden ?

Sorry, Lynne
For some reason I haven't been getting notifications on this project since your January 7th submission. I'll put this at the top of my list this afternoon.
