Well, that's positively horrifying - the noyade and Carrier at Nantes. I hadn't known of those before this.

Hi, Kristin,

I'm so sorry I didn't see your first chapter get posted on the 30th. I was out of town, away from computers, at that time. I'm pretty sure Elizabby won't mind if I give her a hand and post the files to the MW, and then I'll get right on the PL work first thing tomorrow.

Hi, Kristin!

For some reason, I opened ch. 16 first. . .

(You bring a nice style to reading history, so it's not monotonous. )

Here are the PL Notes for Ch. 16
  • At 5:33, "While Bonaparte was living in Lombardy and attacking the great Austrian forces of Mantua" - we should have attacking and fortress
  • 6:21/6:24 marks a repeated phrase
  • 11:59 has a phrase/snap point

Hi, Kristin - Here are Chapter 14 PL notes:

:42 - "And apparently retiring from politics, had gone back to his little country of Arcis-sur-Aube" (should be country town)

7:48 - "the generous defender of the cause of mercy in 1784" should be 1794

So many dates in history readings - I would be mixing them up constantly!!
