The storm reminds me of sailing at Coralville Reservoir many years ago. A storm came up while we were on the wrong side of the water. Some man at his dock, which was near where we were strongly suggested that we not attempt to sail back until the storm was over. We were in a little sunfish that held two. But the person I was with insisted on going back through the wind, rain, thunder, and lightning. I was a nervous wreck the whole way back with the big lightning rod in the center of the boat and nothing taller being around

Scary moments on a small sailboat! I've had a few like that, too. One time one of the stays broke supporting the mast during an upcoming storm. We got to shore just in time!
