I'd like to get AiYume's edit of Chapter 6 if we could, because that's the one which needed those corrections he so masterfully performed. Other than that these are ready to go.

Well. Um. I love Orson Scott Card, but his Tenskwatawa in <I>Red Prophet</i> is about as fictional as it gets. I mean, yes, alcoholic has vision and makes good, yeah, that's true. But Shawnee people don't have a very high opinion of him; he was a violent loony who burned Christian Wyandots -- including a chief -- as witches and very nearly set off a war. He also demanded that people kill their dogs and do all sorts of odd stuff. (Which is odd, because Mohammed also demanded that people kill their dogs.)

It's Tecumseh who was and is regarded as a man who was truly seeking peace and freedom, who demanded that his followers never use torture or massacre the defenceless (and upbraided British officers for not doing the same when he came back to find the Massacre at the River Raisin in progress and had to save American POWs from being killed). The Shawnee had and have a lot more faith in his powers of prophecy (and those of one of his sisters, for that matter) than in the Prophet's. Card's version of the brothers was the exact opposite.

I should also note that William Henry Harrison was also treated unfairly. The man wrote a freakin' ethnography book on the tribes he'd encountered, though I've never been in a position to read it, so he wasn't an idiot or unsympathetic. I realize every history pageant needs a villain, but sheesh!

I guess that's where the alternate universe thing comes in.

Maureen, raised only a few miles from Xenia, Tecumseh's Oldtown alleged birthplace, and the Galloways' cabin. So it's still current events to us....

You could change the name of the Bit Torrent file, to distinguish between the good and the bad. I don't know how much that would help, but it might a bit, right?

Bah, I need to work on this today. I forgot (selective memory?).

I am downloading all the files, including AiYume's edit of #6 now.

If I don't seem to have made any progress in the next couple of days, someone please remind me :)

OK it's all derived. The zipfile was a few MBs larger this time, and lots of the filesizes are different than before.

I would really really REALLY appreciate it if you guys would check the files that were bad last time...

See page three of this thread... several files "broke" somehow during the final upload (or archive's deriving process -- which is what I suspect).

So I took them all down and re-uploaded them, and am hoping they didn't break again.

Sorry, I thought I looked thoroughly through the thread to find the original problem. I had time to listen to all three files of the first one, but haven't been able to check any of the others. The first one is fine!

Bad news: Looks like the the first file is still corrupted so I'm assuming others likely are as well. The odd thing is that the 64 and 128 are corrupted in different ways.

Kara, I know you've had your fill of this so why don't you let me take it from here and see what I can do. I'll take the catalog page down for now until I get this straightened out.
