I've had a listen a few times while following the text. Some pick ups:msfry wrote: ↑April 17th, 2022, 3:11 pm A Holiday In Bed is PL OK. Thanks, lightcrystal. You are right, it is popular but nothing recent, and you really brought out the humor. I'll have to look up more Barrie writings besides Peter Pan.
How would you like to proof listen my Robert Burns's Grave (see above). Right there in good ole Scotland!
[a] 34 seconds in. "Diary Entry" and "1803" . Maybe I am pedantic. But shouldn't they both be removed if not in the text?
36 seconds in. "We went to the Churchyard" should remove the "we".
[c] 1:16 " a monument" should be " monument".
[d] 3:27 "and on one side" should be "on one side"
[e] 4:20 "up in wealth" should be "up to wealth"
[f] 9:32 "maybe from his own door" should be "perhaps from his own door"
Note: your intent with archaic words or maybe they are Scottish words that don't exist in English seems to be to say them as a current English word. For instead you say "bye" as "bad" at 52 seconds. Later on you say shew as show. Both make sense in the context. So I am going to leave those and NOT mark them as pick ups. As Algy Pug has commented, a reader's broad intent should be respected; it's not for a PLer or listener to impose their intent upon the recorder. In my last reading I said Perthshire as I am used to saying it as in Yorkshire. A Scottish person would say it in a different way.
I assume that's all I do for now? I don't do anything with The Magic Window?
I have already gained a reputation as a very demanding proof listener?
p.s no idea why I am getting bold text. I know. My second entry has been taken as meaning bold. Stupid technology.
