An Old-Fashioned Garden is PL OK.
Charming, indeed. Now I'm inspired to go plant some trailing nasturtiums! And everything else mentioned. :)

Here's my submission:

https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/cbc33_theheadgardenersstory_lc_128kb.mp3

14:18

The Head-Gardener's Story by Anton Chekhov 1860-1904

Link to original text: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/1732/1732-h/1732-h.htm#link2H_4_0018

NOTE: in my upload I did not include punctuation in the story title. I wondered if punctuation messes up the upload. If it's wanted I could upload again with it.

Hello, and welcome to the project. This appears to be your first recording, so I'll need you to choose a name you'd like to appear in our catalog beside the files you have read for our catalog. Could be your real name, username or nickname, but once chosen will be permanent in our catalogued projects. I look forward to PL'ing your submission soon.

Kitty, would you do me the honors? It's short, and profound!

yes, I can have a listen later in the evening...need to finish up some editing first. I'm thrilled you also liked the poems from this book. 8-)

 woah ! some of these names are mind-blowing  The one sounded like a Mexican deity, I'm sure it's from that area. Kudos to getting your tongue around those without tripping. How long did you practice ? I'm sure there were snippets worthy to be posted in the blooper collection

Interesting section, thanks !

Only one technical thing to be adjusted: the volume is too loud with 92.4 dB. Maybe reduce it by -2 to get to a better average ? The rest is totally fine.

PS did you see I also posted in your Wilderness thread ? (in case your bookmark from that thread vanished as well)

Simple Names volume adjusted down -2.
I forgot to check that. So glad you caught it. And for that, I give you a "Helianthus Annuus"
Image

As to practice, I break each pronunciation challenge down into syllables with accents, say it aloud several times til it flows, then record it:
maur-an'-di-as
al-str-sem-e'-rias
esch-schot'-zias
pollo-post-e-mono-pet'-a-lae
eleu-thero-macro-stem'-o-nes
Iz-tac-tep'-o-tea-cux-o-chit- lico'-hoey
E-visy'-mum Per-off'-skga-num
Grae-cum
Sperma-gor'ai-ole-kith-o-laka-no'-poledes

Same with Irish names, only I have the online Pronunciation Guides to help (sometimes). As to foreign languages, I usually ask on the Need Help/Pronunciation forum, and you show up to save me.

yes I always check everything with Checker.
Excellent, now definitely PL ok :)

yes I think I am doing that as well, often trying to sing it as it's easier for me to have it in a melodic form.

One of the hardest here on LV was the title for an antique comedy: Heautontimoroumenos. I can still say it today.

 not with every language though. But yes, I like to help out there, if I can.

If I am late addressing anyone's posts, I am having computer issues. I am using an old machine while mine is in the shop, slow as molasses. Carry on as usual, please, and be patient with me.
