It takes a lifetime to learn how the Tarot works! :)
Seriously, I've just looked through this book. It's a good one! [ignoring the controversy about it that I will leave to historians]
Thanks everyone here who has volunteered for the listed roles!

It takes a lifetime to learn how the Tarot works!
Speaking of that, I have always wonderd how Does it work? How can it predict the future? What is the theory of it's power? If this is forbidden ground, just let me know and I will shut up.

These are great questions! No, not "forbidden ground" at all. I have heard countless answers from Tarot lecturers and books; at the first beginners class that I went to in 1996 Anne Shotter, the President of the Australian Tarot Guild, told us that Tarot works because of Quantum theory. I was not happy with this! I told her that I was not happy with that explanation!

I will give my succinct explanation of how all "divination" works, Tarot, astrology, crystal ball gazing, Roman entrails...
Tarot cards try to take us out of linear time. The assumption/theory of Tarot is that time happens all at once, so symbols can take us into a timeless state where the present and the future and the past all dissolve into something, that we can become aware of, in the Tarot cards.

I am moving this project to Readers Found, But then you probably knew I was going to do that, eh?
And thank your that explanation of time being all at once, it actually makes sense!

I have finished my other projects. Now this is my only book in play and I can start work! :)
But I knew that a week ago.

p.s just let me sort Reaper out. Some nasty curve-balls in this software. It defaults to a setting that is not suited for voice records.

My crash course in audio is almost finished; it's a much better sound now. Learning to punch and roll in Reaper [far more complex than in Audacity] and then I can record for this. I also learnt how to do gain-staging.

I am in the middle of watching a video on Reaper's punch and roll tools. I couldn't get inserted corrections to be seamless in Audacity; Reaper is more helpful. Reaper thinks the way that I do. I used to make elec tronic music in Fruity Loops and that was horrible; I never understood the fruity loops mixer rack.

I am about 75% of the way through recording the first chapter. Not an easy read. But it's a lot of fun to read the cards' meanings.

p.s done all the recording now. Editing which is a skill in Reaper in itself.

Here's chapter 3! A 70 minute monster chapter.

https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/_illustratedkeytothetarot_03_delaurence_128kb.mp3

70:02

My first recording with Reaper; going from Audacity to Reaper is like going from a Go Cart to a spaceship.
Linguistic note: author uses the expression "in fine" twice which made no sense to me. Unlikely to be a typo twice. I kept it as it was. Maybe the author was trying to say Latin for "in the end" but that is in finem. In such a linguistic hunt for Red October I made a judgement call to leave it.

Background noise varies because I recorded at different times of the day/night. I didn't use noise reduction because I don't understand the Reaper tool for it yet.

'In fine' is an archaic English term for 'in conclusion' or 'in short.' It may have come originally from the Latin, but through a winding path.
