Hi, welcome to LibriVox! It's not precisely my role to point it out, maybe, since I'm not the coordinator for this project, but make sure you complete your one-minute test before you start recording. The test is to make sure that your settings are ok. It would be a shame for you to make a beautiful recording that we couldn't use because the settings weren't right. Post your test in the Listeners and Editors Wanted forum. I'm one of the handful of people who check that board regularly, so I'll be by to check your test and give you feedback if you need it. :)

Devorah,

Thank you for pointing that out! I'm still a novice in navigating the Librivox Wiki, and I have to admit that I'm not sure where the 1-minute tests are housed!

I'm having some issues with getting notifications from this thread, so if I'm slow in responding, I'm having to check in periodically rather than getting a heads-up via email.

I have heard that one possible reason for this is if you have checked the thread without being signed in. It will only notify you once, until you come back while you're logged in, even if there have been multiple responses in that time. This may not be your situation, but it has happened to others.

The tests are posted in the Listeners and Editors Wanted forum, but I knew that s/he didn't have one yet, because that was his/her first post. If you look at the user name to the left of each post, you'll notice that underneath, it shows the total number of posts ever made by that person, and underneath lovebooks1313, it said "Total posts: 1". I find that to be the handiest way to see. If there is another number that is still very low (say, under a dozen or so), I will usually go to that person's profile, where you can look at all of the posts made by them to see whether one of those posts is a test that has been approved.

Ah, good point.

I finally fixed the email issue by changing my email password and having my Mac rebuild my mailboxes. It did so and coughed up about 100 emails from the past 24 hours, including the elusive Librivox notifications from the past 16 hours.

I'll get those assigned to you. Welcome to the Half Hours With the Lower Animals!

The Magic Window seems sort of unresponsive right now, but I'll try to get those assigned to you using another computer.
