Recently there was a news article about come recently-found cassette tapes from 1978, with accounts from survivors of the Halifax Disaster. Here's the article: https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/halifax-explosion-survivors-lost-tapes-1.7058870

This section was interesting in general, but I had to go read about the explosion. Had never heard of it. Though my favorite obscure disaster that deserves more attention is the Peshtigo Fire.

I will check out the recordings. I really like CBC. I listen to their podcasts.

The copyright confuses me. Does that mean that authors who died within 70 years after 1971 for Canada, or does it mean that anyone before that is fair game? I'm really confused. And as such, I'd love to be part of this. The Halifax Explosion is one of those Heritage Moments, so I feel a Canadian should take part in it.

... And I just realized you might BE Canadian, Tricia. Please don't take what I said the wrong way. I am very confused right now.

If no one else wants it, I'll take Section 4 continued.

It's fair game. Anyone who died in 1971 and earlier, copyright is 50 years after death (so they're out of copyright). But due to the USMCA ("New NAFTA"), our copyright changed to Life+70 starting with authors who died after 1971.

I'll take Chapter 5, too. Both parts. Shouldn't take too long.
