Only three people have access to the MW - MC, BC, and DPL.
It could very well be that I toggled the status incorrectly when I put this in the MW. Was it marked Ready for PL previously?
Nonetheless, I'll change the status.

Wow, this is the most confused project I've run for a long, long time.
Let's all take a deep breath and move forward. :)
I agree! :? But it may have just been a mouse mis-click. I'm taking breaths right now... - Betsy

Thank you!
Both are in the MW Ready for PL
Another really fun reading. PL Okay. I've made note of all the "Kiowa" times, but won't bother listing them unless our admin or BC ask. - Betsy

"Jeb! Now. . . Jeb. . .You jes watch what yer doin' over dere. They's hornits over dere, I'm ah tellin' yah! Jes you watch! You'll be a-steppin' in one of dem dere holes and then, wahl, boy-howdy! The fur will fly!!"

"Haw! Haw!! Jes messin' wid ya!! But by gum, yeh betta watch fer dem ground hornits! They's nasty!"

Okay! Holy smokes! I never dreamed the way I read "Kiowa" would stir up such a ruckus!! LOLOLOL!! Gee! I mean, I thought and thought about it and I don't believe I ever heard anyone in my circle (parents, grandparents, school chums, teachers, etc.) ever even say the word "Kiowa" and since we didn't have any television (except for Star Trek, the original and only one worth watching! and James Bond movies and some orchestral specials and ballet specials, etc.) We didn't have TV so I was never exposed to any shows which might have used some of those terms (Gunsmoke, etc.). Gee! And then, when I briefly started studying Japanese, well, "ki" combinations there are usually "kee" as pronounciation. Then, in addition, I had three dogs (sadly, all gone to doggie heaven within the last year, Kiku was the last, just a few weeks ago), there the pronounciation was also "kee" as in "Kiku" (kee-koo), and Mika (mee-kah), and Mr. Kilo (kee-low). And two of the dogs were a Japanese breed called Shiba Inu, so, "shee-bah ee-noo", and let's see, I think I thought of another thing in my defense, but I can't think of it now, the brain cells were blasted clean by all the back and forth about the pronounciation of "Kiowa"! LOLOLOLOL!!

Honestly, I think it's kind of like "porch" and "stoop", and "creek" and "crick" and things like that. Maybe it's regional?? Maybe lack of exposure to Native Aboriginal strains in the U.S.?? I don't know! LOLOLOLOL!! Shoot! I PROMISE! I will pronounce it "kai-oh-wah" from now on!! LOLOLOL!! I decided to wait a few days to reply since everybody was so stirred up!! LOLOLOLOL!!

Okay!! I went through Chapters 1 and 2 and fixed the Kiowa spots. I don't think it got butchered too badly and I'm pretty sure I got all of them so if you guys want to check them and let me know, I'll wait until I hear from "you-all" to get busy on chapter 3!!

But I'm glad you liked the way I read the chapters!

Okay!! LOLOLOL!! I'm backing away now. . . slowly. . . . carefully. . . . shutting the door now. . . okayyyyy. . . . .

LOLOLOLOLOL!

Oh, Gloria, you are a hoot.
Thank you for taking this all with such good grace and humor.

I loved all the reasons why you chose Key-oh-wa. That would be a good Japanese pronunciation, for sure, having studied that language myself, or even Spanish, for that matter! Let's just say it rhymes with Iowa, for whatever reason. And, I probably made a bigger deal out of it than I should have, and usually I'm pretty easy going on such things. And I wouldn't want anyone trying to give a French pronunciation to Fremont. And, is it SAY-bin or suh-BEEN?l The former, I think, but who knows? And, so I would accept either.

Anyway, I'm so relieved to know we are back in good graces with you and going forward.

Thank you again for being such a good Librivoxer :9:

Oh, I've updated the MW and Betsy will review these and give you the final report.

So, okay, I have put out some fires and I feel that I will soon be able to get the other chapters read in pretty soon here. In the meantime, if someone wants to take a quick look and see if there are any words you might want me to be careful of, that would be really great!

Thanks!

Oh, that's good to hear!
I just recorded my section.

Well, I've glance through the next sections, but I'm not sure what things might be unfamiliar to you.

There are a few French names and words, some attempts at a French accent. I can help with these if you're unsure about any of them. There is one place where the pronunciation is given for a Spanish name, but you don't need to repeat it, but do include "i.e. basket."

I am particular about my home state, Oregon (ORY-gun) and its beautiful Willamette River and valley. Accent goes on the second syllable. In most case, just do your best, or check one of the pronunciation sources.

Thanks for checking in! :9:
