yes, the ID3 tagging is an automatic process in the cataloguing phase. No need to enter them manually.
The reason why nobody maybe ever mentioned it is because many don't check the ID tagging when they are DPLing. And since they get removed automatically in the later process, it's not important if there are any errors there. They will get standardised anyway.
