This does not appear to be a children's text. It should be submitted to the Short Science Fiction collection instead. You can find it here: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=89722

There are a few things that need to be fixed. First the volume is a bit to low at 83.3 DB. We aim form between 86 and 92 DB. You should be able to just do a straight amplify if you are using audacity. I would also recommend a light noise cleaning to the file.
Also, the beginning silence is a tad too long. It needs to be no more than 1 second. If you could snip a bit off, that would be great!
If you could fix those issues and reupload using the same file name, that would be great!
If you need help on how to amplify or noise clean, let me know.

The Game of Be-Witchment
by Eleanor Hallowell Abbott
Read by Camryn Blakely
Time 38:59
I would like to preface that I didn't realize how wildly racist this story is. I didn't know this until like 3/4 of the way through. I did not read those extremely offensive parts because I am black it was hard for me. I also changed the way the black woman in the story spoke because it was just atrocious. I will understand if you don't use it because I didn't say it all but I thought I would explain why,

I completely understand, but we do not allow any changes to the text, so we would not be able to accept this submission.
It is usually best to read over a story first before recording to avoid things like this.
Here is the policy from the wiki: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Recording_%26_Text_Policies
May I change the text?
Occasionally people ask if they can change the published text, for instance by omitting or substituting offensive words or ideas.
The answer is No. We present the text as it is written: no additions, omissions, or substitutions. If the text contains a word you just cannot say, consider choosing something else to record. (There is so much available to record! No need to cause yourself discomfort.) If you wish to make an "editorial comment" about the content of the text, you may do so in the written catalog summary, but you may not add it to the recording.

Hello!
I recorded a selection from a collection of short stories. I am working on a second selection, but I thought I would post this one first, just in case there are any issues--and I suspect there might be. There is this kind of static sound in the background. I tried to do some cleaning as the information pages suggest, but it doesn't sound like there was any difference. I'm going to switch recording devices for the next story, but please let me know if you are also hearing the static on your end, and if it is distracting enough to re-record. It is a pretty short piece, so I really don't mind!
