Thanks Lynne. I've put your section in the MW.
Sorry about the mix up. I never heard back from Maria that she wanted to read section 2, so it was truly open.
Our BC has been MIA since September. We'll get these two sections PL'd and then I plan to move this to "on hold" and advertise for a new BC. No use having it sitting in Readers Wanted if the BC is not around to take care of any claims.

Great Anusha, I'll put you in the MW as filling both roles and make a note in the first post.

Hi, I'm new! I would love to read sections 3 and 4 if that's possible. Is "Minnie" okay as a name?
Hi Minnie, Welcome to Librivox!
I'll sign you up for those sections, and Minnie is great as a name - so now all future your sections will appear under this name in the catalogue! Do you want to be linked to any personal website, blog, etc?
Here is your fresh-off-the-press reader page: https://librivox.org/reader/11618
However, before you start recording these sections, we suggest that you do the 1 minute test. Don't worry, this is NOT an audition, it's just for you to make sure you get the technical aspects of the recording right.

Ok. My part four attempt is all done! I'm willing to change everything if necessary! I've already tweaked a few things with part three -- I hope that's no trouble )) Sorry if it is.

You may. It's assigned to you!
Hello Minnie!
Apologies for PLing your sections after such a delay.
But today I got the time, and here are some notes -
- First of all, I love the way you read! It's so expressive and it's a delight to hear you read
- So, there are no errors in your text (so you don't have to rerecord anything, yay!); but the one problem is that your section 3 should have ended at 12:40, because as the Magic Window says, you're only supposed to read from "It was not long before..." to "...it a little longer." And so it follows that the rest of this section, 12:40 onwards, should actually be a part of Section 4. You can just cut and paste the second half of track no. 3 to the beginning of Section 4. Do you get it?
- Another thing you have to edit is the volume. Both your tracks fall at around 84 db, which is a little soft, because we require all tracks to be between 86 - 92 db. So, could you amplify both the tracks?
This is how you do it:
*Select/Highlight the whole track and then click on 'Amplify' from the 'Effect' dropdown which is on the toolbar. In the 'Amplification' bar, put in 5, and press ok! Now your blue sound imagery will be bigger on your screen.
[For next time, How I can check the volume of your tracks, is a method you can use too! We have a wonderful application called the Checker - http://www.cgjennings.ca/checker/ - which helps us find out if our tracks follow all the technical settings needed for Librivox!]
- Also, just as a side note: there are some moments in the recording when there are gaps of more than 4 seconds long, it tends to sound as if the recording has gotten over - try to keep those gaps a little shorter for your next recordings.
Thanks for all your effort, and these are just small technical things that need to be corrected. I hope you enjoy reading (and don't hesitate to ask me if you have any doubts)!

Hi Anusha. I do indeed get it. Thanks for helping me out with all this stuff. I've re-recorded pretty sister part 3, because I felt I could do a better job. I know it's a bit quiet, but there's so much background noise that I didn't want to amplify :/ That's not allowed is it?
Part 4's exactly the same as last time, just louder, with shorter pauses.
I really genuinely really love your music by the way (I got curious...) and no, there's no personal blog or anything I want to be linked to.

Thanks for correcting the tracks and submitting them. The checker tells me that all the tech specs are correct, so that's great!
I will check them in the next couple of days.
And thank you so much for the compliment! I'm glad you liked the tracks
Great job, Minnie! Sections 3 & 4 are very well read and PL OK!!
