Section 14 Chapter 07 Part 2 The American Business Man 15:45 14.4MB

I was amused here, by the strong differences in people. Chesterton wonders how someone could enjoy a cigar without lighting it, while I am stupified to understand how anyone could enjoy one after lighting it.

Just want to jump in for a second to thank you Ray, (and kmerline) for all your hard work with the Chesterton books you have been doing lately.

I have listened to several of the books you have read, and your reading is quite easy and enjoyable to listen to.

Just wanted to let you know that someone is listening - and thank you!
Ditto! I clicked on the LibriVox link thinking specifically, "Oh, I hope they have a lot of Chesterton." And they do! I finished The Club of Queer Trades and I'm working on Manalive. I loved them both. This is better stuff for my ipod than music! Frankly, I'm disappointed that more of Chesterton's books aren't in the public domain.

Wandering, would you consider doing "Magic" under the dramatic works format? That might be fun. Noting your location (MN), are you connected with The American Chesterton Society?

Hurrah for Belloc!

Thank you very much for the kind words. I did check out Magic, and had previously discarded it because it was a play, and I don't do dramatic readings. That is, all the characters would have the same voice if I read it. I wonder how listeners might react to that. It is in the public domain (1913) so it is a candidate.

Previously, and for the same reason, I had avoided The Napoleon of Notting Hill, but Karen thought it would work even so. Then, ultimately I did record it. But that was a novel. It was rather amusing. Thanks for the suggestion.

Any comments, Karen; or anyone else for that matter?

Ray

Almost forgot to answer your question LC. No! I am not affiliated with them in any way. I do link to their stuff when they review a book I am reading. I enjoy the performances Dale gives on EWTN and they are available in the EWTN audio library.
