Thank you Chris, good reading, but there may be a couple of misreads..
- at 0:35 I hear "The cricket turned its faery fife;" the text reads " The cricket tuned its faery fife;"
- at 0:44 I hear "The insects tickled," The text reads "The insects ticked,"
Thanks.

All set, David! I'd shave off just a tad of the opening silence, but the reading is, as usual, spot-on.
I can't wait for you to hear the versions I've been hearing!

Thank you RedCorsair, good reading, but there are a couple of comments. There are a few technical issues that your computer system probably generates; that happen occasionally.
Checker indicated a DC Bias of -8 and a background noise level of 59.3 dB in your file.
Audacity easily cleans up these issues. IE: Normalizing and Noise Reduction. (I do not know what software you are using).
However, I did clean them up for you in preparation for tomorrow's cataloging.

Aradlaw,

Thanks for the feedback and the file cleaning! You didn't have to do that but I'm grateful!

I did normalize this file, but I did not do noise reduction this time. For all the Libri recordings I've done so far I've used noise reduction, but it seemed (in the moment) that:
1. the room tone was so quiet this time that it might not be an issue
2. I wanted the depth and melancholy in my voice to be preserved for the character of the recording

I think next time I do a recording I will normalize/clean up the noise and then play with the parametric EQ to help bring back the specific qualities I want with Adobe Audition. Still learning, slowly. :)

Thank you again! Looking forward to the next fortnightly poem!
