Glad you could stay awake this time!
It speaks to your talent that you were able to make me fall asleep...twice! Apparently the combo of your voice and the boring nature of electricity for the farm is a perfect combo!
Honestly, I sometimes get drowsy when I'm editing too. I bore even myself! Stay tuned for the Mechanical Properties of Wood (whenever I get around to it).

I love these insomnia projects. This is my second one, and maybe I'll always have one going. I already have texts selected for collections on games ("The History and Science of the Game of Cricket," etc.), recipes ("Santa's Sampler: A Collection of over 100 Hors D'Oeuvre Recipes"), and travel guides ("Authorised Guide to the Tower of London"). So many boring books, so little time!
Waiting for a clever signature line to occur to me.

Cheers, VERLA

Ok, I either really don't like railroads, but I also think I don't like all the numbers lol. I was waiting for the "If train x leaves at xxx, and train y leaves at yyy, when will they meet in Dallas?"

Well done, and PL OK!

Not so many numbers in Lathes, except figure numbers, so you'll get a break. I recorded it today and hope to have it edited by tomorrow evening. Another one or two, and I'll probably be ready to do something else again for awhile. They just take a particular kind of patience. (Well, as you already know 😀)

Sec. 5 is available for PL.

After hours of working with this text, I still don’t know what a poppet is. Maybe if I’d actually studied the diagrams. The main thing I took away is realizing that Turner is one of the many surnames in English attributed to the profession of some long-ago ancestor. Smith is the most common, but there are many others - Clark, Cooper, Wright, Fletcher, etc. I love the podcast History of English, and he did an episode on this.

BTW, I have these all on the lower end of volume on purpose. Some podcasts that I would otherwise use as sleep aids can not be turned down low enough to work that way. I record these in the soft voice for the vocal quality, then amplify just enough to meet LV standards. I sleep every night to a podcast called Boring Books for Bedtime, which was partially the inspiration for these collections I’m doing. It can be turned down so far I can’t even hear it clearly, so I listen to it just one tick up from the lowest volume available on my headphones. I want these to offer the same option.

Sec. 6 as well. Don't be frightened. It has one short table at the beginning, but that's the only one.

The next section, on concrete, has tables, but I won't be reading them all.
