Hi Rosie! Welcome to Librivox.RosiesReading wrote: ↑February 22nd, 2024, 11:48 am Hello!

I will just assign you chapter 21 for now, since this is your first recording. The sections are fairly long, and sometimes we find new readers struggle with the process of recording. Once that is submitted, if the other section is still open, ll happily assign it to you.
Please be sure to read the first post. It has all the information you need, but if you have questions, please ask!

Okay, first LibriVox reading, here we go! Below is the chapter 21 recording; I made sure it passed the Checker app and have been practicing lots on my editing software, but definitely let me know if it needs updating or changes. I appreciate advice anytime!

Chapter 21 PL OK
Very nice first reading! It was clear, well-paced and had just the right amount of expression.
There is nothing to fix,but I did notice a background noise (possibly traffic?) in a couple of places. You might want to look out for that in future recordings.

Amazing! Thank you for listening, your kind words, and taking the time to provide feedback!
I just finished Chapter 27: https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/houseonthemarsh_27_warden_128kb.mp3 (22:41)
What an exciting chapter! For the background noise, I turned down the mic a bit and added some noise reduction before normalizing. I think I'm getting some mouth clicks though; I saw online that drinking warm water before reading helps.
Let me know if there's any edits I should make!

For mouth clicks, sipping tea is said to be good. Also, brush your teeth before recording and try chapstick. Everyone has their own technique, so try a few ideas to see what helps.
