Great job with the corrections. Your inserted text matched with what was already there. Something I have problems doing well.

This is now PL OK.

Thanks,

Here is Secret Service section 9 with the corrections as below. Duration 23:21

https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/secretservice_09_forrester_128kb.mp3

As already mentioned the filename should be "secretservice_09_forrester_128kb" per directions specified in the initial post. Please use the corrected filename when you upload the corrected file.
0:06 Please delete "A Patriotic Barber in Fault". The section title does not belong here.
0:23 please insert " "Secret Service; or, Recollections of a City Detective, by Andrew Forrester. A Patriotic Barber in Fault."
9:44 should read "100 pounds" not "1001" in "The price was 100l."
10:27 should read "100 pounds" not "1001" in "and he were paid 100l., "
14:54 should read "2 pound" not "21" in "British constitution of the 2l. 10s. householders"
19:52 should read "100 pounds" not "1001" in "The note, which was for 100l., "
23:11 should be "section" instead of "chapter" in ""End of section 9"

Thanks,

M

Great job with the corrections.

One more comment. I apologize if I missed it the first time around, or possibly your changes impacted the volume, but it is too high. Could you please lower it by about 3 dB so that it is around the ideal LibriVox volume of 89 dB.

Thanks,

M

I was wondering how bringing in a third party candidate was going to get their candidate elected. Interesting conclusion to the story.

Just a few simple changes needed to get to PL OK.

please add a small amount of silence to the start so that there is between 0.5 and 1 second of silence
should be "section 2" at the start, you've got it right at the end :)
27:08 should not be the "N station". I believe the instructions in the original post are to use "blank" in this case.

Well done overall.

Thanks,

M

Yes, it was an interesting twist! Here's the updated recording, with the requested changes.
Here's the new file: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/secretservice_02_forester_128kb.mp3 . It is 39.29 seconds.
I re-worked the entire 'header' section (Up to about :40 seconds). The 'N station' replacement was just the one phrase.
Everything else was untouched.

Here is section 9 secret service volume reduced. This is hit and miss.
I don't know how to reduce exactly by decibels so I just picked a number.
I don't know how this came out loud either as I did it like I do everything.
I assume you all use the same standards.
If it's still too loud I'll have to research how to do it more scientifically.
Maybe Phil Chenevert has a video on it.
