Section 00 is PL OK! Very pleasant to listen to! All tests passed. No clicks. Word perfect. One note: the last pronunciation of Steuben at 5:50 was stoo^ben and not stoy^ben if that is important.

Roselbex wrote: October 23rd, 2023, 2:36 pm Hi, I just started Ch 1 and the first line has a footnote that Steuben should be pronounced Stoy-ben. I have been pronouncing it Stew-ben. The town in Ohio is pronounced Stew-benville and the glassware is pronounced Stew-ben ware. I can go back and correct my pronunciations or pronounce it the "american" way. Let me know what you want as this is the beginning of a large book. I will change them if you want for consistency, no complaints. Rosie
Since this is early in the book recording I am more toward leaning yes. We should pronounce his name accurately, and have those small bits re-recorded for accuracy. I'll look into what is the best way to mention this to other volunteers that might come along.

Thank you.
Hi all, Suggestions, for making this part of the PL requirement and giving advance notice of it, are to insert it into the first post and to Mention it when BC approves a claim in the thread. I am going to mark Section 00 as See PL notes so that Rose is notified to fix this. All good. This was an early post and good on you Brian for picking it up.

Finished PLing Section 01. Perhaps the BC or MC will weigh in on what is important and what is not. I tried to err on the side of being too thorough. Very nice read! The file passes the checker. There are a few points of note:

1:41 rumble noise
3:10 should be "opinions" and not "opinion"
9:00 should be "In a like degree" and not "In like degree"
10:47.5 should be "I was obliged" and not "I have obliged"
19:19.5 rumble noise
20:25.5 should be "change" and not "changes"
20:36.5 should be "It was" and not "It is"

These are a bit overmuch for Standard PL. Here is the link for you to review. https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Guide_for_Proof-listeners. Lets leave it and Rose will edit whatever is necessary from your list. Thanks for your dedication and promptness!
