Hi, I PL'd section 1:
At 1:10, I heard, "Our sages blame those, reveal these mysteries..."; text is "Our sages blame those WHO reveal these mysteries..." which I think is a meaningful difference.
I don't know Hebrew, but I can say that the spoken Hebrew seemed to match what I saw in the text.
Hope this helps!
Cheers,
Patrick

Hi, section 11 is PL OK -- with one comment: at 7.5 seconds, during the intro, you use the "Maimonides" version of the author's name instead of "ben Maimon," as given in the intro script and heard in the other two sections PL'd thus far. It's possible (if unlikely) that the name change might prove puzzling to a listener.
Cheers!

Chapter 10 is PL OK! A fascinating argument, to reflect long upon!

Thank You x 3
I had the idea to cycle through the various names saying Maimonides in one then Moses ben Maimon in another to make it clear to listeners that these were different names for the same person.
I can make them all Moses ben Maimon.
Amy what is your preference???

One of Aristotle's answers to the Problem of Evil (saying that Evil arises due to defects in the building blocks used) is my favorite but not available to Moses ben Maimon who is restricted by the Biblical idea of Creation out of Nothing. That must have annoyed him at least a little.
Whatever the text is my preference.GeoffreyEdwards wrote: ↑July 22nd, 2023, 8:05 pm Thank You x 3

In the mind, or consciousness of the Earth this flower first lay latent as a dream. Perhaps, in her consciousness, it nested as that which in us corresponds to a little thought.--A.Blackwood

Section 12 is PL OK! From this section, I jotted down "An ignorant man believes that the whole universe exists only for him...." So wise and insightful!
One comment: both the intro and outro periods of silence are a little long: 1.08 and 5.77 seconds respectively. I mention only because when I first started recording, I learned from a BC/DPL who was strict about the silences, so I tend to be also; but I always wanted to ask an MC -- how strict is it really necessary to be with regard to the silences?
Cheers!

Ok. Majority vote has decided I'll use just one author name for all of the sections.
Is it ok if I stick with Moses ben Maimon (closer to Hebrew)
instead of Moses Maimonides (closer to Greek) which is used on the Title of the book
All the sections but one have Moses ben Maimon
