Buzzing sound in recording.

I#m actually thinking of getting a microphone. I've experimented with a cheap headset one, and the Logitech 250 seems to be reasonably priced, and being a headset microphone, it'll be easier to have a consistent set-up, with my head the same distance from the microphone.

However, I'll stick with my current microphone to finish off the records I'm doing. If noise removal is off the table, I'd like to be able to merge re-recordings into the original recording, smoothly, so you don't notice the join.

There is a join, where I've edited together 2 recordings, with just a straight cut and paste, and some adjustment to the volume. The join isn't too bad. I had tried it before, and it was more noticeable. However, any suggestions on how to smooth out the join, so you don't notice it, would be appreciated.
