I'm having some trouble recording my 1 minute test, but once I've sorted that out, I'd like to read Chapter 7, please :)

Welcome aboard Anna. Chapter 7 is all yours, just get that little test sorted out and then have fun. Ask if there are any questions, OK? Image

EDIT: How would you like to be credited in the catalog? Most of us use our real names but it is up to you.

Hello,

I would like to read Section 1, and Section 4 please.
For a name, Mike T. would be fine.
Thank you.

A big welcome to this Mad TEa Party Mike and to LibriVox. Ask if you have any questions at all we can be bewildering at times.
Those two sections are all yours to enjoy.

EDIT: I recommend some of the videos about our forums linked in my sig. They are simple but explain some of our jargon.

Hi Ash28999 and a big welcome to LibriVox! :D I have assigned that section to you but before you record it, please make and upload a 1 minute test to be sure your recording set up is OK. Instructions can be found in our Wiki and in the first post of this project but Here is a video that may help too: How to Make your 1 minute test.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlaRY_-bcfs and then How to Upload your 1 minute test How to Upload your 1 minute test

(You may post the link to your test in this forum and I will see it much more quickly)

I also recommend Getting To Know our Forums Getting To Know Our Forums

We just want to check out your technical specs. Don't forget to post the link either in this thread or in Listeners WAnted forum.

And how would you like to be credited in our catalog? What name? most of us use our real name but it is up to you.

Thank you. You voice is great and your tech specs are fine but your volume is low at 79 dB. We aim for 89 dB.

Please increase your input volume somehow. If your mic has a control use that or if using Audacity, there is a slider bar for mic imput volume. Or even just mov a bit closer to the microphone. Anyway, please increase the volume and upload another test; call it test 2 or something like that. You re almost there and will be recording in a short time. :D

I just noticed something:
I was a bit confused when I saw the magic window, as I thought I had signed up for "A Caterpillar Tells Alice What to Do".

Chapters 4 and 5 are mixed up in the window.

In the book they appear as below:
CHAPTER IV.
The Rabbit Sends in a Bill
CHAPTER V.
A Caterpillar Tells Alice what to Do

Oh My Goodness you are right! I am so sorry for the confusion because I obviously got those two chapter titles switched when setting this thing up. I am officially putting you in for chapter V as that was the one you thought was right and will negotiate with the reader of the other chapter.
Sorry again for the mixup.

Mike: please note that section four is The Rabbit Sends in a Bill. I had mixed up the chapter titles but they are now straight, please read chapter 4. If this is a problem I apologize for the mistake.
