Chapters 7 and 8 are now up. I hope chap. 8 is all right. I'm95% certain I proof listened to it myself, but if it seems wrong, let me know and I'll edit the sound track again.

Here are these three chapters, the last (about an election) quite long, showing how much Trollope enjoyed writing about politics on the local level as well as national. And in chap. 16, the entertaining Miss Dunstable, one of AT's lively characters.

Hope they all came through OK -- I had some trouble uploading, after a bad lightning storm last night which seems to have slowed down the local internet.

Here's chapter 18 -- I sent this off to someone else by mistake (aradlaw in Toronto), so had to re-send. I also tried to upload chap. 19, but my internet connection, which has been behaving badly all day, broke off in the middle, so will try again tomorrow.

Unfortunately I've discovered that the Gutenberg text of this book has many errors in it. I've picked up the ones where the grammar is clearly bad, or a word left out or repeated; but there are undoubtedly errors I've missed as well.

But my troubles are minor compared to Miss Dunstable, who has to spend much time fending off suitors who have their eyes on her fortune.

Oops I forgot to report on 15, 16 and 17 - all arrived and I listened last night - all PL OK :

He is very fond of some of his names isn't he - His Grace makes a cameo appearance
and I do like his ointment heiress - hope Mary finishes up with something better than what is on offer (or should I say not on offer? ) at the moment
If you do find you have uploaded to the wrong folder just post and mention it , its easy to slip on those drop down menus and it is just as easy to go and get it as long as we know it is there

Here's chapter xix, which I managed to upload successfully.

And here we meet, if that's the word, the Duke of Omnium. A pretty colorless fellow at this point, but of course it's some years before he meets Madame Max Goesler, who livens him up in his old age. Still, you can see where his nephew, Plantagenet Palliser, gets some of his humorless genes.

Chaps. xxiii and xxiv are now up in the MW. Incidentally, in dealing with Sir Roger's son, I give him a French pronunciation, more or less, when he's referred to as Louis Philippe, to honor that name; but when he's just plain old Louis, I pronounce him Lewis. Hope that's OK.
