COMPLETE[FICTION] War and Peace XII, by Leo Tolstoy - ry
Hello iwyllpa,
I just took a quick listen and your recording is truly wonderful!
On the technical side, it really sounds like having been recorded with a professional equipment and the reading itself is perfect! Thank you for recording and I hope you will contribute a lot of chapters for "War and Peace" (or for LibriVox in general - I don't want to be selfish).
Greetings and thanks again,
Rainer

I have a feeling I got "Ignatyevna" wrong, but it's still intelligible (I hope).

Hello Dave,
Im glad that you are going to read some more chapters of War and Peace. Sections 6 and 7 are yours. Thank you!
Hello JessicaLouise,
a section taken and done before I was even able to reply. I love that!
Don't worry about possible misprounounciations. I guess you would not be the first one...
And hello Éva,
thank you so much for your recording. And I will amplify the section if necessary. No problem!
Greetings and thanks to all again,
Rainer

I would like to claim and read Chapter 9 of book 12
Hello SingingButler,
welcome to LibriVox and thanks for volunteering! I marked you down for chapter 9 of this book 12 of "War and Peace". I hope you have fun with recording.
To make sure that you understand how it all works around here, I can give you the tip to carefully read the first post .
Furthermore, here are some tips for new volunteers. It explains how to record and all the other processes here
http://librivox.org/wiki/moin.cgi/NewbieGuideToRecording
However, if you have any more questions, just ask.
Just one more question from my side: how you want to appear in the catalogue? This can be either your forum name, a pseudonym or your real name (just as you like it).
Greetings,
Rainer

I finished Chapter 3 and it can be found here: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ry/war_and_peace_12_03_tolstoy.mp3
I got some help with the French phrases but I know I didn't say them quite right - sadly I just can't quite pull off a French accent. Still, I think it should work.
The .mp3 is 6minutes 4.5 seconds (that's including the 5 seconds of blank space at the end of the file) and it's 5696kb (5.56mb)

And don't worry if some French phrases are perhaps not 100% accurate. I myself won't know the difference anyway (I don't speak French). I'm looking forward for your next chapter.
Rainer

I've finished chapter 04 and it can be found here: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ry/war_and_peace_12_04_tolstoy.mp3
Time: 11:35.614
Size: 10.6mb (10870kb) - uploader showed 11.13mb, not sure why
Please double check the ID3 tags - I entered them, but in the Windows Explorer mode showing "Details" the artist/album info hasn't been showing up.

Thanks for your recording, iwyllpa!
Before uploading, we have a validation process where we see all files with their id3 tags in a big table. If there's anything not correct, I can change them then. And the difference in the file size is probably because one of them counts a MB as 1024 KB and the other program as 1000 KB. But the file size is not important, we only look at the length of the recording.
How about another chapter?
Greetings,
Rainer

I found what my problem was with the ID3 tag and got a simple program for changing the tags, so I re-uploaded chapter 4 (to make sure I'm doing it right.) It can be found here: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ry/war_and_peace_12_04_tolstoy.mp3 I can also re-upload section 03 if you want but it sounds like it's no big deal. As for recording another chapter...we'll see
