*Danielle, your volume is okay, but the intro is too loud, you can play with the Effect / Compressor in Audacity to 'even' out the volume.
You can check your volume using our Checker program - see info at http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker You will find the volume in decibels on the Information tab. For your information, we look for around 89 dB (87-91 is OK) (all the other tech specs are there also)
- [Quality hint] I also noticed that there were a few light 'plosives throughout your file, these are breath noises hitting your mic, you could try angling the mic to one side of your mouth to reduce these.
