Poetry: The Listeners, by Walter de la Mare is a favourite, and we have a billion copies of it about.

I would like to make some suggestions in spanish about great travels, just in case:

- the first navigation around the globe by Magallanes and Elcano:https://librivox.org/primer-viaje-en-torno-del-globo-by-antonio-pigafetta/

- The first full navigation and discovery of the Amazonas by Europeans by Orellana:https://librivox.org/descubrimiento-del-rio-de-las-amazonas-by-gaspar-de-carvajal/ just fresh into the catalogue!

- a great classic, the Marco Polo's travels:https://librivox.org/los-viajes-de-marco-polo-by-rustichello-da-pisa/

Thanks

Timothy, I prefer not to link to individual recordings, even though this one is a nice choice! :?

I LOVE other languages, thank you, Epachuko!
Cheers, Ava.

It's a weekly poem, so would that work, rather than linking to one recording? https://librivox.org/the-listeners-by-walter-de-la-mare/

It's still only a 2-minute recording... If it's in a whole collection of the author's poetry, I would consider it.

The staff picks have to last you for an entire month.

How about The Cloister and the Hearth? https://librivox.org/the-cloister-and-the-hearth-by-charles-reade/

I'm not sure how much travel plays a role in the later parts of the book. But I'm about 30 chapters in, and Gerard is making his way (on foot!) from Holland to Rome. He's already had several adventures along the way. (I'm loving this book so far, by the way!)

Sounds good! And with 36 hours definitely not a short one.

https://librivox.org/a-bachelor-girl-in-burma-by-geraldine-edith-mitton/ is also interesting - and she shows respect for other religions and cultures.

She was in Panama before the canal was built, and was in the Crimea during the siege of Sevastopol.

Thank you both!

I think we're pretty covered on the non-fiction already.

Any travel-related novels? Besides the entire oeuvre of Jules Verne, I mean.
