You actually did the other way around - the original text says that villany is
perpetrated, which is correct. You're right,
perpetuated means something different and is not what the author says here. Crime (i.e. villany) is perpretrated. (It can be perpetuated too, but again, that's not what the author says.)
The PL will comment on this and ask you to change it.
If you come across a situation like this, or anything in the text you think might be wrong, consult with the BC to get guidance. Sometimes it's an obvious minor typo. But discuss before making changes in your reading. LibriVox attempts to be as true as possible to the original text.
