Hi Kara,
Have you managed to pick up the files yet? I'm having web space issues and would like to be able to take them down...
Thanks!

Oh yes, I downloaded them immediately and forgot to listen! You can delete from your server. I'll send myself an email and remind myself to take a listen tomorrow.

How's everyone else doing? :)

Meredith, I'm really sorry but that's just too much static. It's very uncomfortable to listen to for any length of time. ARGH. I'm so sorry to have to ask you to do them again. What kind of mic are you using? If it's not a USB mic, may I suggest you try one? They're very inexpensive and usually solve problems such as this.

Good luck!

Hm. I am in fact using a USB mic (made by logitech). I had no trouble with it on my desktop at home -- perhaps it's my laptop? It seems odd, though. Do you have any suggestions for how to minimize static with a USB mic?
At any rate, I'm sorry for the delay, but you'll have to wait a while for the re-recording, particularly if I can't get rid of the static on my laptop since I won't be home for another few weeks...

Hmm, that _is_ odd. Maybe make a post detailing your setup (recording software and technical specs of your laptop, etc.) and including a sample recording over in the "Help Wanted" area. And no worries, we can wait til you get home if we can't solve the laptop problem!

*hugs*

I recorded chapter 18 and 19 on February 3, but I finally got 18 edited today. I hope to have 19 done later this week.

And while I'm here... April 1 is fast approaching. If those readers I haven't heard from in a while would post, pm, or email and let me know if you're still planning to read your chapter, I'd sure appreciate it :)

Our deadline is very flexible, so don't worry if you've got technical difficulties, house guests, or the flu -- I just need to know if you still want to read. If not, no worries, I can find another reader for your chapter.

Thanks!

I've already signed up for 2 chapters of Junior Classics.
I guess I have the librivox bug.

These were recorded as a single reading, so chapter 09 lacks the standard ending, and chapter 10 lacks the standard start. If you want me to get Sureka to read them and edit them in, email me!
