Lad: A Dog by Albert Payson Terhune (1872 - 1942) .

This exciting book is now in our catalog at https://librivox.org/lad-a-dog-by-albert-payson-terhune/
Lad: A Dog is a 1919 American novel written by Albert Payson Terhune and published by E. P. Dutton. Composed of twelve short stories first published in magazines, the novel is based on the life of Terhune's real-life rough collie, Lad. Born in 1902, the real-life Lad was an unregistered collie of unknown lineage originally owned by Terhune's father. Lad's death in 1918 was mourned by many of the story's fans, particularly children. (Summary by Wikipedia)
  • Target completion date: 2013-Dec-15
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/38777
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I saw this book a little while ago and thought it would be a nice one to do as a solo.
I'd be happy to PL this if you are looking for a DPL?

Thanks
Sam

Sam, are you the DPL for Trails' End? That would make it easy to use the same password.

I think that both Greg and Sam can now get into the Magic Window. Unfortunately to do so, I can't show SamR as DPL until we catalog. but let me know if there is a problem.

Greg. Please add a number in front of the title, e.g. 01 - His Mate etc.

It helps to line them up properly when sending the project to Internet ARchive.

And tell Sam if there is any special PLing you would like him to do, e.g. pronunciations, etc. or if just standard is OK.

Phil, thank you for fixing whatever was wrong with the password. I also appreciate your guidance re setting up the chapers, etc. I believe I have made the needed corrections (as well as changing the text source link you requested). Please let me know if I have done everything correctly!

Sam, at this point I would appreciate standard Pl-ing. Even though I have a fair amount of chapters under my belt I do find myself speaking a bit fast at times (this has been a life-long problem for me - I should have been an auctioneer I guess!). If you notice that in my recordings please let me know.

I look forward to working with both of you on what should be a fun project. This is a wonderful book and I am looking forward to the three of us bringing it to life!

Take care,

Greg
