The Comedy of Errors by Wiliam Shakespeare (1564 - 1616) . Edited by William George Clark (1821 - 1878).

This project will be BC’ed by WoollyBee (Sarah).
Sarah will be the DPL.
Kim (Peppersnoodles93) will edit.

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/the-comedy-of-errors-version-2-by-william-shakespeare/
The Comedy of Errors tells the story of two sets of identical twins that were accidentally separated at birth. Antipholus of Syracuse and his servant, Dromio of Syracuse, arrive in Ephesus, which turns out to be the home of their twin brothers, Antipholus of Ephesus and his servant, Dromio of Ephesus. When the Syracusans encounter the friends and families of their twins, a series of wild mishaps based on mistaken identities lead to wrongful beatings, a near-seduction, the arrest of Antipholus of Ephesus, and false accusations of infidelity, theft, madness, and demonic possession.. (Summary by Wikipedia)
  1. Is there a deadline?
We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen.
Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
  2. How to claim a part, and 'how it all works' here
To find a role to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which role you'd like to read. Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
  3. New to recording?
Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
  4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/files/23046/23046-h/23046-h.htm
  5. Please claim roles (the numbers in the first column below)! Please note: All Librivox recordings are in the public domain. When you submit your recording, you will be placing your recording in the public domain as well.
If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

I'm going to be away from LV for a while. I have had some serious family things come up and LV is to much at the moment.

Hi, Halle! This is going to be fun! The first post looks great. :)

We want the subject to say [Play] and not [Dramatic Reading]. A dramatic reading is a book modifed/sectioned off so that different people read the character dialogue. Plays are (supposedly) much more straight forward.

Just popping in to point out that the summary from SparkNotes is not public domain. I recommend getting the summary from Wikipedia or writing one yourself so that it's PD.

Thanks Elizabeth! I've been told that using the summary from Wikipedia isn't the best because the Wikipedia page summary automatically goes in when cataloging...is that still true?

Hmmm, I'm not sure what you mean. When I catalog a project, I use the PD summary that the BC has provided. Does that help?

Sorry I didn't explain that very well!
I forget who told me, but they said that when cataloging they just put in the excerpt from wikipedia, as well as the summary.

No, I don't do that - I use the summary that the BC has provided, and as far as I know it's standard practice to do that. :)

Halle and Sarah,

I can MC this for you.

I'll be back in a bit with the MW.

When I catalog, I will put in the catalog (and on the Archive page) whatever summary you have in the initial post.

Sure Amanda! I'll add you in as soon as the MW is ready :)
MaryAnn: Thank you soooo much! Also, if you have an option, could you add me to the MW as User-1532? The other is fine as well, but its easier with the one above :)
