Short Ghost and Horror Story Collection Vol. 021 -ba
I've PL'ed Section 04--you did a nice job, Michelle, on a pretty lengthy recording! Just a few notes for you--
Section 04 (The Upper Berth):
--The track does not begin with the Title & Author, but starts instead with the LibriVox disclaimer. I would guess that you need to correct the intro to conform to the first post in thread for consistency with the other tracks.
--At ~8:53 there is a stumble "...and I accordingly gave him certain coins here-there and then".
--At ~16:00 there is a stumble "To my surprise the doctor stare-started visibly, and stared at me."
--At ~24:45 there is a stumble "...and then began to shut the round glass pra-plate with the heavy brass fittings."
--At ~25:39 there is a stumble "If I find it open in the might-the night, Robert, I will give you..."
--At ~26:45 there is a stumble "...and which, in the darkless-nark-darkness, looked like a faintly luminous soup-plate..."
--At ~41:49 there is a stumble "Well, I was-as I was saying, that occurred in March."
--At ~47:47 there is a stumble "You will be told that is it eng-it is engaged--yes--it is engaged by that dead thing."
This may look like a lot to correct, but I think that most of the stumbles can just be snipped out fairly easily as you seemed to follow up with the correct word. Post in this thread again after you have made the corrections, and I will take a quick listen. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi, Chiquito and Bart--
I tried to get to the source document for "Transition" (Section 06), but I only get a screen that says that the site has been suspended. Chiquito, do you have another source text that we can use?
Thanks!

Section 07 (At the Gate):
No notes on the reading of the text. Chiquito, but the bit rate is incorrect, shows as 192 kbps. And since you will be uploading again anyway, I think that there is a typo in the Track Title that you might want to fix.
I enjoyed that sweet ghost story...

Section 06 (The Transition):
Another excellent reading, Chiquito--but the bit rate on this one shows 320 kbps rather than the required 128 kbps. If you can correct and upload again, then I will mark it OK. (Also, could you please mention the length of the recording when you post here again? Thanks! )

Here is something a little different. It is not a story, it is a horror poem. It is a little more cheesy than I would like to submit to the poetry collection, but I think it would fit well here. I also got a little cutesy with the recording parameters. I like it, but it may be a little too much for some. If you'd rather not use it, for either reason, that's fine.

Title: The Night Wire
Author: H. F. Arnold
Year of Publication: 1926
Source: http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Night_Wire
Uploaded to: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/ba/ghohor021_thenightwire_HFArnold_dg.mp3
Duration: 16' 52"
I have a question, I was tempted to filter the news wire reads to make it sound 'telephony', just to make it different from the protagonist. Would that be too much or would it be acceptable?
Thank you.

No it wouldn't be accepted.
It's against LibriVox policy.
But since this is your first post Iwill have to check it first.

No problem. The one I uploaded had no such filtering, I just thought of it while I was uploading and I didn't know quite what the policy was on that.
