I'm a new reader but could I take sections 27 and 28?
Hello and Welcome to Librivox, gloriousjob!
I'm sure you'll love it here.
I see you had your 1 minute test approved. That is a good start!

I have assigned chapters 27 and 28 to you - it's a good project to get your feet wet. Each story will be under 10 minutes, I'm guessing; and they are delightful children's stories. Make sure to read the first post - all the info you need is there but if anything doesn't make sense, just ask. The wiki has lots of good info (link at the top of any page) if you run into difficulties; also one of our admins has developed some very helpful videos if you are more of a visual person: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=33439
Once you have uploaded your file, post the link here (together with the time in mm:ss e.g. 11:23) and Halle, our DPL will proof-listen and give you feedback. Fixes are usually fairly straightforward 8-) Then you will be free to claim more chapters (the only restriction being how many you can complete in a 2 month period).

How would you like to be entered in the catalog? Most of us use our real names, but some prefer to use their forum name, or a nickname.

Have fun.
Lynne
I will be gone until approximately June 3 and will catch up on cataloguing and PLing on my return.
In case of emergency, please contact any other MC.

Why thank you kindly, I have always enjoyed reading out loud children's stories. I do it every year for read across America in the school district I work in, the kids always enjoy my readings very much, so much so that they usually demand another story even though I am only there to read the one!

I just completed Story 28, though I am open to feedback, both technical and personal. I'm not good at accents so maybe it'd be better if I didn't try?

Lynne, in regards to my name, my forum name gloriousjob suffices for the catalog.

Thank you
Halle is our DPL and she will listen soon and give feedback. There are often minor fixes that a DPL can pick up on, whether in content or technically. There are plenty or resources to help you improve in any area, so it's a good idea to become familiar with the wiki, and also the videos made by Phil, one of the admins here (you can find then in the "Need Help?" forum). There's a lot to learn when we join - for most of us, anyway  but you'll soon get the hang of it.

Some people like to add voices to their reading, which is fine if you can do it... I can't (mine all sound the same) so on a story like this, it's best (I think) to imagine a group of young children sitting around my chair...

ETA here is a link to your catalog page: https://catalog.librivox.org/people_public.php?peopleid=8396
You can access it by right clicking on your name in any MW. It's a great way to keep track of your claims. As you can see, we can add a link to a blog or personal website.

Story 27 is done:

http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/sj/unclewiggilyinwoods_27_garis.mp3

Time: 05:11

I'm willing to take story 24 next about the Puff Balls.

Also, I accidentally reuploaded 28, which created a duplicate file. Is there a way to delete this duplicate?

Thank you for 27
I have assigned 24.
Don't worry about the re-upload - when Sarah catalogs this project, she will just use the most recent file, which will usually be an edited file if there is more than one. All other files get disregarded unless there has been some kind of boo-boo and she knows to use an earlier file. In this case, it makes no difference at all 8-)
