Ack! I didn't get my usual email that someone had replied to this thread. I will begin PLing immediately!
In my experience, nothing ruins a party like someone suddenly speaking Latin in reverse.

You're generous and kind. Thanks. It's a GREAT novel, among Defoe's best and he had many bests.

I'll get right on these. Thanks for your efforts. Reading these tables is really hard, as the formatting is lost in html.

Yeah, I figured... plus all those numbers can be a bit of a tongue twister.

I've re-edited Section 10 per our proof listener's suggestions:
http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/rg/plague_year_10rev_defoe.mp3
It has a runtime of 23:29 now.

Denny, Caet hasn't logged on for 3 weeks, and she hasn't picked up my PM from a week ago either, so I propose to PL the rest myself, so that we can put this to bed without further delay.
Section 10
17:47 the words "as I have said" are still omitted
18:46 Text is: "as long as any would come to hear them"; you read "as long as any would hear them"
Please just record those two phrases separately, upload them in a file called section10_edits or something and I will edit them into the amended and noise-cleaned version, as I have already spliced into it your corrections so far, and also corrected some of the figures in the table. If you prefer, download this new version and do the edits in that: http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/rg/plague_year_10_defoe_rg.mp3

Thanks, Denny. Section 10 now PL OK. That seems to work well, so shall we do the same for Section 11?
Section 11
21:20 Text is: "then, again in February; you read "then, again in January"
21:44 Text is: "even so long as till there died above 3000 a week"; you read "even so long as till there died about 3000 a week"
21:51 "and almost all Southwark side" Southwark is pronounced SUTH-uk (ˈsʌðək) like 'mother'. http://www.howjsay.com/index.php?word=southwark&submit=Submit
22:06 Text is: "and such other things as oil and rosin and brimstone"; you read "and such other things as oil and resin and brimstone"
22:51 Text is: "St Margaret, Bermondsey"; you read: "St Magdalen, Bermondsey". Bermondsey is pronounced BUR-mundzee. http://www.howjsay.com/index.php?word=bermondsey&submit=Submit
23:14 Omitted: "Stepney 273"
I will try to PL one section a day. You're nearly there now.

Section 11, re-edits:
http://upload.librivox.org/share/uploads/rg/Section_11_ Edits.mp3
That HowJSay pronunciation website is really terrific. My knowledge of how to say British place names is limited to what I learned going to school in Cambridge, Massachusetts for four years, where many nearby towns were named after British namesakes.
Once Plague Year is fixed, my next Defoe project with be The Storm (1704) about the devastating hurricane that occurred a year earlier. That work pre-dates Plague Year by 18 years, and is also a fictionalized account presented as journalism. The pronunciation website will prove quite useful!
