King Arthur, A Drama in a Prologue & Four Acts by Joseph Comyns Carr (1849 - 1916) .

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/king-arthur-a-drama-by-joseph-comyns-carr/
A retelling of the classic legend of King Arthur, Guinevere & Sir Lancelot. (Summary by Amanda Friday)
  1. Is there a deadline?
We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen.
Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
  2. How to claim a part, and 'how it all works' here

To find a role to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which role you'd like to read. Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
  3. New to recording?

Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
  4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): http://archive.org/details/kingarthurdramai00carruoft PLEASE CHECK IF YOUR CHARACTER HAS A GOOGLE DOC IN THE MW
  5. Please claim roles (the numbers in the first column below)! Please note: All Librivox recordings are in the public domain. When you submit your recording, you will be placing your recording in the public domain as well.

If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

FEMALE READERS - PLEASE FEEL FREE TO VOLUNTEER FOR THE REMAINING MALE ROLES! ALL ARE WELCOME!

Libby is going to take on the editing role for this project - because she's a rock star! Eden (Hobbit) is head of DPL extraordinaire for this one because she's the bomb!

Roles spoken for so far:

Guinevere
Morgan
Merlin
Elaine
Percival

Arthur, Lancelot & Mordred I would like gender specific. However, dear ladies, feel free to sign up for any of the other "Sirs," etc. :)

I have some Google docs ready for the random chorus parts as some are hard to find in the original text.

I'll MC this for you, Amanda. But I can't set it up right at the moment. I'll get it done by the end of the day.

Also happy to read whatever role you'd like - Elaine, spirits, etc.

I'd like to be Mordred, unless you're wanting gender specific casting, in which case I'll take Clarrisant.
Between being a full-time college student and working 20+ hours per week, I'm not able to be involved at LV these days, but I remain a loyal fan and look forward to a triumphant return sometime in the (probably distant) future.

Excellent, Elizabeth! Thanks so much - I'll throw you in there for Elaine! As for spirits/maidens/etc, it will be easier once the MW is up to see what's what in regards to those. :) And no problem - I wouldn't be able to fill in the MW until much later tonight or tomorrow.

Eden, I would prefer gender specific for Arthur, Lancelot & Mordred. But any of the other "Sirs" are fine to be female. :) Let me know if you'd prefer one of them; otherwise I'll put ya down for Clarissant!

Well I was going to say Percival then, since like Mordred he is young, but unless I'm missing something he doesn't appear to actually have any lines... If he does I'll take him, and if not Clarissant.

Also, I would be happy to DPL. :)

He has 1 line to himself and he will also read with the Knights which have a good chunk in Act 1.

And I think my offer to DPL got lost in cross posting, but I'd be happy to do that. :)
