Thanks, Grace - I've put you down for Francisca/Nun. Unless you'd prefer a larger role, in which case please feel free to choose one of the male roles. :)
That's fine, thanks!

musicalheart1 wrote:Hi Elizabeth,

Quick question as I'm going through and trying to find all my lines.

In Act IV (can't find what scene), Isabella and Julietta are talking and they go back and forth. The text has it as follows:

ISAB. Speak clearly then ! You are not under- stood.
May none do ill, that so they may do good? Nature no greater gift than life can give.
ISAB. By virtue we our nature long outlive.
Jul. Can it be virtue to let Claudio die?
ISAB. His life should not be sav'd by infamy.

It seems to me this is an error and it should read:

ISAB: Speak clearly then ! You are not under- stood.
Jul: May none do ill, that so they may do good? Nature no greater gift than life can give.
ISAB. By virtue we our nature long outlive.
Jul. Can it be virtue to let Claudio die?
ISAB. His life should not be sav'd by infamy.

Thoughts?
Hi EB - yes, you've got it correctly as far as I can tell. The second line should be Julietta's, since she's arguing for life above everything else, whereas Isabella's arguing for virtue. Thanks for asking! :)

Okay, great. Thanks!

As I tell my students, context is everything!

Here's the first two acts of Viola! (Would have been earlier but I was taken on a surprised trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon. Backstage tour of the RSC, I saw his birthplace and I beat a group of people at a Shakespeare quiz! Such fun!)

The others will come sometime this week! :D (Apart from the last song)

Thanks for the Viola files, Cat! So glad you had fun in S-U-A. I lived there for a year, which was a lot of fun. :)

And thanks, Caprisha - I'll put you down for Maid/Servant!

The rest of Beatrice - including the Act 5 song with Lucio, Benedick, and Viola - is in the MW.

thanks, Elizabeth! I'll put these in the MW.

And I'm moving us to Dramatic Works. Three dramas in the launch pad at once is probably too much...

I would like to be involved in this play as I am interested in William Davenant, he was the son of an Oxford inn keeper and the inn, now called the Crown, still exists.
I have just taken on 2 other parts, but as I am in a rash mood, can I offer to read the Duke. I think there should some male readers. This now makes 3 plays in which I am the solitary male in an otherwise all female cast. Come on guys, give me some support.
Davenant also claimed to have been named after his godfather, William Shakespeare, but I don't think there is any real evidence to support this.
