New Theme Music

Long time since I contributed anything, but here I am again.

I have been listening to the community podcast and I would like to thank the producers for using my little themes from this oh so long ago forgotten thread - http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1061&start=0
(I'm so disconnected, that I don't even know who they are.. but they do a great job)

Well, I thought I would do a few more in varioius styles, and I started with a little accoustic guitar one.

Can someone stick this up on the Wiki promo page? Its not an editable page, or I would have done it.

Any suggestions for other themes (smooth jazz? Hard rock

70's funk!!)

I got the original ideal from XM radio (if you have it, you know what I mean).

Thanks for the new variation on the theme! Nice.

Actually, the LV wiki IS editable by you, but you have to sign on to the wiki to do that. But anyway, your new theme file has to be added to archive.org, which you couldn't do.

I've added a link to your new file to the wiki and the file will be added to archive.org for all to access. (The yousendit link has a short window, and so I've provided a temp link to it elsewhere.)

Yes, a smooth jazz one might be good. Are these "real" instruments?

Welcome back and thanks a lot for the themes.
They are the perfect tool for the job.
As for new variations;
There's one I can hear in my head but I'm not sure I can explain it very well. It's a sort of acoustic guitar clicking sound that has a bit of a sense of urgency.
It's the sound you get when you strum a guitar and then clamp your hands over it to stop the reverberations. I figure it might give the jingle a sharp staccato type feel for special occasions.

And another one which would be fun would be the theme on a banjo.
A real plinka plinka plink type thing

And neither can I.
I don't get an edit button logging in there so I figure someone (maybe Brad) has put it on archive.org under their own login

Thank you CM and Jim (and you too Hugh) for your suggetstions and comments on the themes.

Well, at one time, I knew how to put stuff on Archive.org, and I had a log in to the Wiki, but I had forgotten all of that!! Thanks for updating it for me.

I have a full little computer-based studio in my office. The first three themes were all "virtual" instruments (which are really just samples of real instruments - you can get pretty real sounding with the right technique, voicings, effects, production, etc). The last one was a mike of me actually playing my real nylon guitar. I added a few effects to make it sound like I am in a cathedral!

OK, a muted guitar (electric I presume), and a jazz version somewhere between free and smooth coming up soon (which is all relative, given my schedule).

This is a little bit tongue in cheek, but since Librivox is all about voices...

How about a full choral version with pipe organ?

Does anyone have the "key" to uploading newer themes with the original ones? (And as I think of it, I have a few as well. Am currently providing spave for Brads newest and mine, on one of my servers. Links are on the LV Promo page.)

And I have the idea in brain for a version with strings+horn/orchestral... it'll just be a while before I actually get working on it!

Can anyone supply the notes for this? I've tried to decipher it but it's giving me problems. (I know, I know, I should be able to work it out but I can't. I'm a need to see notes type of person.)

Kristen, I have been out of town. Do you want just the melody, or the melody and chord voicings? The different versions have some different chords.
