I'll be your MC Carl :)

I put this into the catalog system, and put Non-Fiction and Philosophy as the category and genres respectively. Is this correct?

Also, I just want to let you know about something new most of the MCs will be doing with regards to keeping track of updates. Since I hate to have to track people down if they're moving slowly (which isn't a problem), I'm going to leave it entirely up to you :) This just means that I need you to check in every month, even if you haven't made any progress. I just want to be sure you still intend to do this work, and that you're still around. If I don't hear from you in 2 months, your project will be removed. Sound good?

Oh, and for file formats, I set the Introduction as section 0 in the system, so I would suggest putting 0 on the filename instead of 1.

Ack, you beat me, I was just going to add it and I found it there already. I'll go change the subject line to your initials then.

Never mind, Kristen. Looks like you beat her to the last four letters of your name, so you win some you lose some. Thanks anyway.

And thanks Kri. The category and genre look okay (at least I think so - I didn't know we even had genres - this could also be "politics" if that exists). I'll try to make the whole thing as painless as possible and I'll store the files on my own space, and my target is to get this done in less than two months, so hopefully there'll be no issue there.

Cheers,
Carl.

Great :)

The genre is part of the new catalog system that we're soon to announce officially. This is the list of genres we have so far if you see any that need to be added: http://librivox.org/newcatalog/genres.php

Sounds good to me Carl. I think a good general guideline to follow is to keep the recordings under 60 minutes as a hard limit, and 30 minutes as a soft limit.

Hi Kri,

I've just finished this and posted to listeners wanted:

http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5228

You may wish to do things with magic windows.

I've put a new description on the post, which I'd like to be used instead of the one at the beginning of this thread. Also, please can it be cataolgued with "Philosophy" and "Religion" genre tags when the time comes.

One problem is I've made a mess of the ID tags by not putting the titles in consistently, so the introduction and first chaper are done in the style "00 Introduction", whereas later chapters are done as "Chapter 3". Will you be able to fix this whilst cataloguing?

Many thanks,
Carl.

Hey, thanks for setting up proof listening :) I'll let you know how you can add the magic window. It's similar to bbCode, just put readers=745 between [ and ] brackets.

Description change noted.

The ID3 tags can easily be changed when I'm going through the cataloging process, so no worries.

Many thanks Kri.

Sorry to be a pest, but can you please check off the introduction in the magic window (otherwise I'll have an incomplete book on my record forever).

Thanks,
Carl.

Even more sorry to be a pest...

...it's spelt "Mikhail", with an "i". This affects the catologue page, the URL of the cataolgue page and the Archive.org page. Possibly it will also affect the metadata (?).

Many thanks,
Carl.
