Sorry everyone, time got away from me over the weekend
Thank you Tara, April and Lee Ann.
Good readings Jeff and Sarah, but you both need to add some ending silence in your files for the the required 5 seconds.

Dear David,
Thank you very much for the feedback.
Which software do you use to measure the dB level? Please let me know.

Dear David,
On googling for the above, I came across MP3 gain. Is it the right software for the job - to increase the dB levels of the mp3 files. Please let me know.

Thank you so much Aradlaw !
Ratan, mp3gain is pretty useful to determine the dB level of a recording. But you need Audacity to increase it (Go to "effects" -> "amplify" and then just enter the number of decibels by which you want to increase your recording).
Hope it helps.

Britannia

There's a small program the spouse of a LibriVoxer developed to check the tech settings. If you're game, you can download it and use it to check the volume and other settings. It's here: http://cgjennings.ca/checker/ratan wrote:Dear David,

Use the Experimental-0.9 alpha version.

Apparently MP3Gain does not actually amplify the file, but tells certain MP3 players to amplify the file.
