I think I would be able to catch up with you if it wasn't for the typhoon. The strong winds won't help me make a nice recording. Image

ekzemplaro wrote:Hello George san,
Thank you for your recording.
I just checked the technical spec. It's OK. I've uploaded MW.
Your volume is slightly loud. It's 91 Db. Our target is 89 Db.
Do you know 'mp3gain'? I used 'mp3gain' on Linux. It shows as follows.
$ mp3gain msw003_balaniadi_smirnenski_gs.mp3
msw003_balaniadi_smirnenski_gs.mp3
Recommended "Track" dB change: -2.070000
This means you need to lower 2.07 Db. You can easily do this using Audacity.
If you wish, you can try volume adjusting and upload again. But you don't need to do this.
It's just 2Db.

By the way do you know Kotoosyu?. He is famous in Japan. He is a sumo wrestler.

Cheers,
Masa
I've used Audacity's Amplify to lower the volume with 2.07 dB and re-uploaded with the same name.
I thought as long as there was no cut-off (distortion) it was OK, and louder was better. Apparently not, I'll keep it in mind next time - I could have easily lowered the recording volume, which would have been better, as there would've been less noise.
I didn't know about mp3gain. Can Audacity give me this information?

I do know of Kotoosyu, I don't know him personally :)

George
I welcome any and all (positive or negative) feedback on my recordings.

Здравейте George san,
Thank you re-uploading the file.
The result is as follows.
$ mp3gain msw003_balaniadi_smirnenski_gs.mp3
msw003_balaniadi_smirnenski_gs.mp3
Recommended "Track" dB change: 0.010000

If you use Linux, it's included in the package.
>> mp3gain 1.5.2-r2-2 Lossless mp3 normalizer with statistical analysis
You can get information from the following page.

Bonjour Kalynda san,
Merci pour votre enregistrement.

You live in Maine and you recorded 'La Main'. A good selection.
Do many people speak French in Maine?

Hello Anna san,
Thank you for your notification.

Hello Cat san,
Thank you for your message.
I'm afraid there're some kind of mistake.
Only portion of the mentioned text is recorded.
Can you record also another portions and update them?

Our policy is explained in the previous project as an answer to Pitorek san by Anna san.
Well, LV always has a policy of going for unabridged works etc - and I like that - you can be sure you get "the real stuff" here, instead of shortened or "Disneyfied" bits. So I'm not in favour of this.

There have been exceptions in the past I know, but that was usually for special collections, like "your favourite chapter of your favourite book" or "first chapter of famous works".
I know recording the whole book is difficult. So another idea is to select another short poetry. I welcome your recording.

Cheers,
Masa

Hello Masa and Catrose,
I don't know any Welsh... But I think that this book is a collection of poems, right? So this is just one very short poem from that collection. Some poems are very short. Could you please let us know, Cat?
Thanks,
Anna

By the way, Masa: I will watch the number of sections that you need, and will increase if necessary.

I suggest that we catalog at 20 or more sections, but with a project running at least 4 weeks. So this month it will probably be more than 20 sections if this speed keeps up.
