Thanks Chip. You're right about the moral on The Bat and the Weasels. You had to stop and contemplate for a moment after you heard it - definitely a deeper concept.
That one was tough - for a newbie anyway. To differentiate the 2 voices was a challenge for me - especially since I imagined a bat and a weasel BOTH having high-pitched voices! I think my husband must have thought I was nuts trying various voices out loud while recording - lol! I'll get going on the next 2!

That's one of the cool things about these Fables, Beth. They're so short that you can try many things with them. They're also short enough that you don't forget which voice to use for which character halfway through!
The real trick of course is to have fun with them. When you're having a good time, the sound of it comes through in your voice.

I'd like to take on:
01-22 THE NORTH WIND AND THE SUN
01-23 THE MISTRESS AND HER SERVANTS
01-24 THE GOODS AND THE ILLS
01-25 THE HARES AND THE FROGS
--Alice
01-22 THE NORTH WIND AND THE SUN
01-23 THE MISTRESS AND HER SERVANTS
01-24 THE GOODS AND THE ILLS
01-25 THE HARES AND THE FROGS
--Alice

The last four are yours, Alice! Welcome to LibriVox! These Fables are an excellent way to get your feet wet in here, since the readings are so short. Though reading for upwards an hour at a stretch can be daunting for a beginner, these can be read in less than three minutes each.
I'm looking forward to hearing your recordings!
Wow... all twenty-five Fables are now subscribed and it's only been a single day! Old Aesop still has drawing power even after 2600 years! I guess we can move this thread into the Readers Found area.

I'll take them! Thanks
Well that was fun - though I had to banish the small noisey nosey cat from the room.

Wow, thanks to EVERYONE for such wonderful and speedy work! This hasn't even been up three days and we only want for five recordings before this volume is complete and we can move on to the next. I'm astounded at how well this is coming together
Thanks to you all!

Heehee. I knew this would be a huge hit! We'll have people signing up for volume 2 in no time! This may be record time for project claiming and completion if we keep it up at this pace!
BTW, thanks to whatever moderator moved this to readers found while I had a looooong day at work.

Congrats, Chip, on coordinating the most popular project in Librivox history! When all recordings and data are collected, let me know and I'll take it from there.

At this point we're only waiting on Joplin and worraps for the last ones. If I don't hear from them in the next day or so, we'll find another way. Thanks to all!
