I have two one act plays in mind that I will post tonight.
- the libretto from a Puccinni one act opera (NO SINGING!)
- a short Egyptian tomb melodrama

Again, Thanks! Todd
Here is my second one. Very short and supposedly a true psychic investigation by Carrington rather than a fictional play - but you decide....

* Title and author: ZENOBIA (A Dream of Ancient Egypt) A Psychic Drama in Seven Scenes By HEREWARD CARRINGTON
* PD text link: http://archive.org/details/zenobiaadreamofa00carr
* Link to author on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hereward_Carrington
* Link to title on Wikipedia: (none)
* Number of roles (including narrator) this project will have: 4 (see characters below)
* Original publication date: 1916

Jacques Dupont, An Artist
Dr. Robert Morton, Occult Investigator
Princess Zenobia, The Mummy (Note - the text sometimes calls her RA by mistake)
Narrator

The Tom Swifty about "denial" springs quickly to mind.

Many thanks, Todd

Please sign me up for either of the male roles. This looks too good to pass up. :)

Please sign me up for Section 09 to be Taraukuwazhiya, their servant (male).

I'd rather be him than try to pronounce that name!

Thanks, Todd

Thanks Todd. I'm excited about taking this role. This looks like one of the most bizarre plays I've ever seen submitted to the one act collection.

I also like that the one acts selected for this collection so far are surprisingly diverse and eclectic. Some odd, obscure choices. I like it! :thumbs:

EDIT: I just went to Hereward Carrington's Wikipedia page... and holy smokes! I want more of this guy's work in the Librivox catalogue!

Oh, and two roles have already been claimed--Amanda will play Henrietta and I will play Stephen.

I'd also considered doing a second one act play, but I think I'll wait to see what everyone else is doing before I start hogging all the available slots.
Can a very green :mrgreen: person sign up for being the narrator on this one? This would be a first for me so if you'd rather wait for someone with experience apply for this, I would completely understand.

On the contrary, I'd love to have you as my narrator. Thank you so much. Of course, feel free to send me a PM if you have any questions about what that role might entail.

And I believe this is a personal Librivox record--I don't think I've ever had one of my projects fill up that fast! :clap:

But it looks like someone named "Allomak" is signed up for Henrietta, instead of Amanda (JoFriday21).
Whoops! I wrote "Amanda" instead of "JoFriday21"...:P

Hello,

We recorded the following play at the June meeting of the U.K. Librivox chapter. It's already recorded and edited, barring one line which needs to be re-recorded and edited in, and adjustments to intro, outro and file names.

I'll add reader list later today. DONE

Peter

Kristin and Amanda,

Please sign up chocoholic to be Zenobia.

(Hate to pick on what is undoubtedly a carefully chosen forum name, but I am now picturing a chocolate Anubis statue with the ears broken off....)

Thanks, Todd
