Act 1 is fine Adam.
The volume is a bit too high and there is the occasional clipping on the highest peaks, try lowering the volume.
Your waveforms should look like...

I noticed that the volume was high, but I thought I wasn't supposed to do any processing of the file for this one. Unless, are you suggesting I modulate my voice until the waveforms look good? Or lower the intake volume?
I'm new to this, so I just don't know>

Lower your input volume just a little. Clipping causes an odd sound artifact and there is no way to fix it after the fact; the only way to avoid it is to not have it happen in the first place. (Clipping = when the waveforms get squared off, or clipped, at the top and bottom of the grid because the volume is too high.) Need help turning down your volume? Having the mic slightly farther from your mouth might also work. Don't try to modulate your voice; recording is no fun at all if you have to worry about clipping while you are trying to emote.
You are more than welcome to send a short test clip after you adjust your input, so that we can make sure the volume is OK. If the waveforms look like the ones in David's example you will be fine.

I've gotten spoilt always letting other people to the tech work. I'm enjoying learning this aspect of the business.
I'll lowering the the input volume of the mike. I can't really bring the mike further from my face, because it's on a headset.
I have the mike volume set at 78 and the boost set at 12.0 db. Any suggestions?
Is the clipping really bad. Does it need to be redone?
I don't mind. (Well, maybe only a little. )

Hi Laurie Ann,
Here is Act II. I bent the mike a little further away from my face, and the wave form looks better. I had Audacity mark the spots with clipping, and there's only one. It's hard to call someone a wench without clipping.

Thanks, Adam and sidhu!
Adam, we will get David's opinion on Act I since he listened to the whole thing. Ha about the wench!
