Section 13 needs a few edits.

The title in the tags needs to be 13 - Chapter 3 - The Study of the Old Testament and the Religion of Israel - Part 6

The first 11 seconds needs to be cut off, for the same reason above.

The whole recording needs a little noise cleaning. There is a constant hum there that has not been in your other recordings. This can be nicely taken out with a little cleaning.

(Yeah, I'm caught up here! :D )

Section 13 is PL OK, except that it still needs a little noise cleaning. Joe, if you feel that this section doesn't need it, then it can stand as it is. Let me know either way.

Tony, if you need help with noise cleaning, let me know.

There is definitely a background hum of about 85 or 90 Hz in this recording. It might be a refrigerator or fan or something. I don't find it distracting in my cheap headphones, but it might be tough to listen to for somebody with better headphones than mine. I tried the noise cleaner, and it attenuated the hum but did not remove it completely. I need some kind of notch filter that will remove that specific frequency of noise, but my version of Audacity does not have it.

Tony, can you apply the noise cleaner on your recording and resubmit it? It will definitely sound better if you do. Please ask if you have any questions on how to do it.

Hello kelliherrin, and welcome to Librivox! I am always happy to welcome new readers, and I thank you for volunteering but it appears that this is your first post here at Librivox. Since this is the case, I ask that before you volunteer to read a section, you first submit a short, 30 second or so, recording to our ‘Listeners and Editors Wanted’ forum. This is not an audition! It is merely a way get you familiar with the recording, editing and submission process, and get the technical kinks worked out. Once that is finished, I can assign you to read sections from this book.

Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording to learn about downloading the appropriate software and how to submit a test recording for Librivox.

Thanks again, and I am looking forward to your future recordings here!

Thanks for keeping me on my toes... :D

I couldn't hear any noise, but when I cleaned it I of course could see a difference.

Thanks again... :birthday:

If you can see the waveform of your recording, you can see the noise. In your case, there was a constant oscillation of about 100 Hz or so in your recording. Just a low hmmmm. Thanks for re-uploading!!
